After the earthquake disaster in Turkey, aid was collected for the earthquake victims in the Lenkerbeck district of Marl, Germany’s North Rhine-Westphalia state. However, PKK/YPG supporters did not listen to the earthquake and set fire to the collected aid at night.

While an investigation was initiated about the attack that took place at around 01.00 local time, the fire was extinguished by 30 firefighters after a 2-hour response.

All of the aid collected for earthquake victims was destroyed. While the supermarket where the earthquake aid was collected was damaged as a result of arson, the Turkish flag hanging at the place where the aid was found was thrown into the fire.
Recklinghausen Police Spokesman Michael Lesch said: “We can’t say anything about the cause of the fire at the moment. The footage recorded by security cameras is being examined. In the footage, we can see how two people lowered a Turkish flag and threw it into the fire. Videos taken from security cameras are being evaluated.”
