What better than TikTok to determine the beauty trends that will punctuate 2023? Passionate about tips and inspirations of all kinds, users intend this year to add color and glitter to their bathrooms, without neglecting skincare, the central point of their beauty routine. Here are the skincare and make-up trends that should soon become part of your daily life.

Barely started, the new year already holds some nice surprises in terms of beauty. If we rely on the inspirations that are currently unanimous on TikTok, it is clear that beauty enhancements will be a bit more extravagant in 2023 with an emphasis on colors and glitter, especially on the lips. and nails, while the care will be playful or focused on a new part of the body, namely the scalp, new darling of beauty addicts.

    Velvet, magnetic nails

Long neglected in favor of skincare, makeup is reclaiming its rights – on TikTok in any case – with a host of inspirations placed under the sign of color. While the end of the year celebrations have just ended, it is the ‘velvet nails’ (#velvetnails) that fascinate on the Chinese social network. And contrary to what its name suggests, it is not a question of reproducing the flagship material of the seventies, but of giving the nails a velvety appearance thanks to a magnet and a magnetic varnish. A strong trend that has already generated more than 30 million views on TikTok, while the fashion search engine Stylight* reports a +600% increase in search interest for magnetic nail polishes on its international platforms.

Another make-up trend not to be overlooked, lip oils. Exit matte lipsticks, make way for textures that enhance the natural color of the lips, and provide them with a good dose of hydration. A strong inspiration that is part of a larger phenomenon, multifunction cosmetics, which combine make-up and skincare. The #lipoil hashtag has already peaked at more than 700 million views, while searches associated with this trend have jumped 114% in one year on Google. Ultimate makeup inspiration in vogue, and not least, the ‘cold girl’ make-up, which results in a beauty treatment evoking skin frozen by the cold. The trend is behind more than 90 million views on TikTok, while searches for cream blushes, essential to replicate this makeup, have increased by +52% on Stylight.

    The scalp, the new skin

In terms of care, skincare is always unanimous with a host of tips, techniques, and new inspirations to reveal glowing, flawless skin without needing to conceal imperfections under layers of makeup. But the phenomenon that has been taking hold for several weeks concerns another part of the body, the scalp, now at the heart of the hair routine. In the spirit of a larger trend, skinification, which implies taking care of your hair as well as your skin, scalp care is currently unanimous on the Chinese social network. The goal? Massage it, exfoliate it, and pamper it to have shiny and healthy hair, and increase its volume. The hashtag associated with this type of care has been viewed more than 600 million times, while search interest for scalp massage brushes has increased by +25% on the fashion search engine’s international platforms.
