Den Dolder – When we think about care for people with intellectual disabilities, we often think of initiatives such as restaurants run by people with disabilities, small assisted living projects and inclusive education. How different was it in the middle of the last century? Maarten returns to the grounds of Dennendal, now Reinaerde, in Den Dolder. 50 years ago, the discussion about care for people with intellectual disabilities became so heated that the House of Representatives became involved and eventually the Mobile Unit came to clean up the area.
