Van Dijk names Koeman as his ideal central partner

The Dutch Virgil Van Dijk, Liverpool defender, named his compatriot Ronald Koeman as his ideal partner for the defense due to the importance that this has had in his career.

Koeman, former Barcelona coach, coincided with Van Dijk both at Southampton and with the Dutch team. After his time at Soton, Van Dijk became the most expensive defender in the world when he signed for Liverpool for around 80 million pounds.

The central defender was asked in an interview with Nike about who would be his ideal historical partner in defense and he opted for Koeman. “Because of the importance he has had in my career. And he also won Euro 1988 with the Netherlands, so I’m staying with him,” said the Dutchman.
