USA University of Michigan consumer confidence down in August

(Finance) – Falling expectations US consumer confidence as of August 2023. According to preliminary data from the University of Michigan, consumer sentiment is estimated to decrease to 71.2 points compared to 71.6 points in July, but is higher than the expectations of analysts who expected a level of decline up to 71 points.

In the same period, the index on present situation rose to 77.4 points from 76.6 points previously (expected 76.9 points), while the index on waited it decreased to 67.3 points from 68.3 previously (the consensus was at 68.1 points).
