(Finance) – Weekly gas storage in the USA is decreasing more than expected. According to theEnergy Information Administration (EIA)division of the US Department of Energy, gli gas storage in the week ending January 28, 2022, they decreased by 268 BCF (billion cubic feet).
The figure turns out to be worse than the consensus (-216 BCF). The week before, there had been a decline of 219 BCF.
The total stocks therefore reached 2,323 billion cubic feet, resulting in a decrease of 14.5% compared to a year ago (when they were equal to 2,716) and a decrease of 5.8% compared to the average of the last five years (2,466 BCF) .
