Urinary leakage, everyone concerned

Urinary leakage everyone concerned

Did you think bladder leaks only affected older people? Make no mistake, urinary disorders concern a large public. They can manifest themselves at any age, in men and women, even if the latter are more sensitive to them for anatomical and physiological reasons. Explanation.

Postpartum and menopause: favorable periods

Bladder problems are much more common than you might think. In France, more than 3 million people*, the vast majority of whom are women, are affected and it is not just seniors. Urinary leakage can indeed affect young women, this is often the case during pregnancy. These small leaks can be explained by the flow of hormones or by physical changes related to pregnancy (weight gain, change in posture). Childbirth, especially vaginally, also frequently triggers postpartum bladder problems. But the probability of experiencing leaks increases more significantly at menopause, around the age of 45-50, under the effect of the hormonal drop. Indeed, a low level of estrogen can play a role in their appearance. Whatever the cause, it should be remembered that bladder leakage is a common occurrence, so there is no reason to be ashamed of it. In addition, the people concerned can be offered effective treatments (including perineal rehabilitation exercises) to improve their symptoms and their quality of life.

In each situation, its protection

In most cases, bladder leakage is caused by pressure on the stomach caused by laughing, coughing, sneezing, or physical exertion, such as simply carrying groceries. Little things that can disrupt everyday life. Thus, some women give up practicing a sports activity, others reduce their water consumption, which is actually counterproductive, because dehydration can be the cause of a urinary tract infection. All this would be easily avoided if the people concerned used protections specially adapted to manage urinary leakage. Because despite the existing solutions, some women still wear sanitary pads for their urinary leakage. That’s a shame. This is because sanitary pads are made to absorb blood which is thicker and flows continuously, while pads TENA Discreet Mini are designed to absorb the urinary stream, which is much more liquid and which flows quickly in a jet. Effective, comfortable, but also ultra discreet, towels TENA Discreet Mini are thin and slip under any outfit, even the tightest. With them, zero odor and rediscovered serenity, it would be a shame to deprive yourself of them!
