Roads closed for police investigation near Hagersville

A person who barricaded themselves in a home near Hagersville on Friday has been arrested by police.

The incident began at just after 11 am when police went to a home on Indian Line Road to execute a warrant.

The person then barricaded themselves in the home, leading police to close several roads in the area. At the time police said there was no threat to public safety.

Haldimand County OPP, the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, and Emergency Response team were the police units involved.

Police took the person into custody without incident at just after 8 pm

No injuries were reported.

No charges have been laid but the investigation is ongoing, police said later Friday night

Indian Line between Concession 16 Walpole and New Credit Road and Haldimand Road 44 at Concession 15 Walpole have since reopened.
