Update 7.1.5.3 is here – All patch notes and info

Update 7.1.5.3 is available for Destiny 2 today and with it a server down. As Bungie announced, they are already thinking far ahead and paving the way for future changes. The loot shooter’s systems should be more isolated from each other, so that one problem is less likely to lead to other problems. MeinMMO also tells you what you need to know today.

What you need to know today: At the end of June, Bungie already provided an update on game stability and the measures they have taken to make the gaming experience smooth and reliable. Because if the game doesn’t work or the keepers get locked out of activities, everything else is irrelevant.

7:36 p.m.: The patch notes are now available. You can find them further down in the article. And for anyone who wants to know what’s rotating in Destiny 2 this week, check out our Weekly Reset.

7:08 p.m.: The update is here and ready to be loaded. On the PC, the download size is 96.6 MB.

7:00 p.m.: The servers are still offline. It will probably take a few more minutes.

5:25 p.m.: Destiny 2 have just been taken offline for scheduled maintenance. Now you have to be patient until 7 p.m. if everything works out.

We will keep you up to date with a live ticker in this box during the server down. So keep an eye out for updates to this article.

That’s why there’s a lot going on behind the scenes at the moment.

  • Among other things, Bungie has integrated new logs and metrics for the damage system.
  • Destiny 2’s monitoring dashboards have been significantly improved, giving Bungie’s Network Operations Center better visibility into these systems and enabling them to more quickly identify, escalate, and diagnose issues.
  • In addition, the developer discovered a bug in the login system and fixed it before it caused problems for the players.
  • Overall, the efforts include the stability of more than 50 services in Destiny 2 that contribute to the operation of the loot shooter. This includes load balancing code, the code for service-to-service communication, the internal message processing pipelines, and more.

The support also has a lot to do. While the upcoming Season 22 will still focus on identifying and fixing current stability issues, Season 23 will focus on protecting Destiny 2 from stability issues that may arise in the future.

But first, let’s take a look at what might change for Guardians in-game today.

Maintenance on 08.08. – All server down times

These times are important today: Today’s update 7.1.5.3 will be released for all platforms, i.e. PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC. According to current planning, the planned downtime is 1 hour and 45 minutes.

MeinMMO will be monitoring the server down and will regularly update this article with the latest information from Bungie Support. Even if the times should change.

Here’s the current schedule for today’s maintenance in Destiny 2:

  • 4:00 p.m.: Background maintenance starts on all platforms.
  • 5:15 p.m.: Bungie will take the servers offline. Players are automatically kicked out of the game.
  • During the downtime, update 7.1.5.3 will be installed and then gradually rolled out.
  • 7:00 p.m.: The expected login should be possible again in time for the weekly reset.
  • However, the maintenance will continue to run in the background until 8:00 p.m., which means that you may still have to expect some disruptions during this time.
  • Important: As long as the final background maintenance is running, there may be connection problems in the game. In addition, there may be longer queues when logging in immediately after the update and unplanned extensions are also possible.

Please also note that third-party applications and the official companion app will not be accessible correctly for a while and therefore cannot be used.

This changes with Update 7.1.5.3 in Season 21

Destiny 2, like Eramis, is taking a little “stasis nap” today

That brings the update 7.1.5.3 today: Many players are hoping that Bungie will address the finisher bug in today’s update. Because this error is not only annoying, but is also often used to troll other guardians.

  • Players can die from finishers. However, only if the enemy dies before the finisher animation completes.
  • With this, the little meanness has crept in that some guardians like to help other players in the finisher to an involuntary death by killing the animated opponent with their weapon beforehand.

Otherwise, these things are still on the targeted list of known problems:

  • Bungie is investigating reports of players being unable to log in through Steam and getting stuck on the loading screen.
  • Dexterity mod does not cause weapons to be ready and holstered faster.
  • The resilience stat determines the previous level’s damage resistance when it is a multiple of 10. A resilience of 100 adequately provides the intended benefit.
  • The Catalyst cooldown timer for the Exotic Trace Rifle The Navigator has no description and appears as a blank timer when activated.
  • After channeling a Saint-14 Master Trials weapon, subsequent channels no longer indicate that the original requirement of having any Trials Pass with 7 wins is still in place.
  • Improved crafted weapons cannot apply or preview memento shaders.
  • Blocking with the Arc Staff Super while using the Hunter’s Exotic Headguard Rot Ranger unintentionally consumes additional Super Energy.
  • The Lord of the Wolves shotgun does not have a crosshair for hip firing.
  • The Compass Rose shotgun does not appear in Collections.
  • The Taken portal and the heart at the end of the Last Wish raid may appear off-center. Memories at the end of an Altar of Reflection activity can seem odd.
  • Player name changes are not infinitely customizable through bungie.net. Several “Number Guardians” continue to wait here for the option to change their player name again, instead of getting the “You don’t have any name changes available” message.
  • Notes on the Solstice event ending tonight:
Bungie advises that all Guardians should claim their completed objectives and available rewards before the end of the event to avoid losing anything. You can do this with Eva in the tower.
And for those who have already missed them in the collection: The glowing armor of the solstice event 2023 will be included in the transmog feature with the start of Season 22 on August 22nd. If you earned them during the event.

If you know of other bugs in the game that are not listed here, please feel free to share them in our comments section.

Patch notes for maintenance 7.1.5.3 in Destiny 2

With each update, the guardians are excited to see what changes Bungie will bring to the game

What’s in the patch notes? Bungie publishes the list of all changes for maintenance 7.1.5.3 in the form of patch notes. However, these will only appear tonight and give a complete overview of all fixed problems and improvements.

As soon as they are published, we will link them in this article, as this may change later.

Even if the loot shooter is currently receiving a lot of criticism: For Bungie, work on the Destiny services remains a long-term project that will continue to be invested in beyond Season 23 and in the future. And from here it’s only two weeks until Bungie shows its big showcase for The Final Form.

But the Guardians seem tired of listening:
