World Cup Saturday in Lahti started with a great Finnish performance. Krista Pärmäkoski won the 20 km traditional cross-country time trial.
Pärmäkoski fought a fierce battle to win over Germany Victoria Carlia against. Carl finally succumbed to the Finn by 1.9 seconds.
Pärmäkoski’s victory is the sixth World Cup of his career. The previous one came with a 10-kilometer traditional run in Falun in March 2018.
The current season has been difficult for Pärmäkoski. He took a competitive break after the Goms World Cup at the end of January. Before this, Pärmäkoski’s best finish in the World Cup from the current season was seventh.
However, Pärmäkoski showed a great upward trend even last weekend in the Puijo Suomen Cup.
