Every Dutch person is obliged to insure themselves for healthcare costs. Such basic insurance easily costs around 150 euros per month per person, which can increase due to additional packages. People with a low income can apply for a supplement, which will amount to a maximum of 123 euros in 2024. Utrecht has a special health insurance for minimum income, the U-polis. Nearly five thousand Utrecht residents use this. But they have to look for another insurance, because the U policy is going to disappear.
