Two die in separate crashes when vehicles hit trees

A driver was killed Wednesday night when a vehicle left Putnam Road in Thames Center and crashed into a tree, Middlesex OPP said. Police and Thames Center firefighters responded at about 11:15 pm to the crash.

The driver, whose identity wasn’t released, was alone in the vehicle, police said.

An 87-year-old Thamesford man died after his vehicle left County Road 119 (19th Line) in Zorra Township and struck a tree at about 11 am on Tuesday, Oxford OPP said.

The driver, Leonard Martin, later died in hospital, police said.
