Türk Telekom signed an important cooperation with Ericsson, one of the world’s leading technology companies, for 6G projects.
The following was stated on this subject: “Two companies participating in the GSMA Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona, Spain signed a Goodwill Agreement to develop projects on 6G. In this context, while Türk Telekom and Ericsson are joining their forces in strategic areas on 6G, the research facility in Istanbul, one of Ericsson’s 16 global research centers and the only center in the Middle East and Africa Market Area (MMEA), will enable the two companies to carry out joint activities in Turkey and internationally. It aims to take a leading role in the development of future wireless communication technology through research and development projects.”

Türk Telekom CEO Ümit Önal spoke on the subject as follows: “As Türk Telekom, the leader of Turkey’s digital transformation, while our collaborations in the field of new generation communication technologies continue, we have now included developing the 6G ecosystem and application areas by taking part in national and international projects in our work in the field of 6G. It is very valuable for us to move forward with Ericsson Research in these studies and explore this important field together. With this collaboration, we aim to accelerate our country’s digital transformation and lead the development and implementation of 6G globally. “We will continue our work without slowing down to move our country into a country that produces rather than consumes technology and exports the high technology it produces.”
Ericsson Türkiye General Manager Işıl Yalçın said the following on the subject: “We are happy to sign a goodwill agreement with Türk Telekom to combine our expertise in contributing and accelerating R&D studies with the discovery of 6G technology. As 6G is expected to change the way we live and interact, we believe our joint collaboration is essential to unlock the full potential of this technology.
