A Dresden woman accused of impaired driving causing death will have to wait nearly a year before her case goes to trial.

Working between the schedules of Wall’s lawyer, Ken Marley, and the Chatham-Kent Crown, the trial is slated to begin on May 23, 2023.

Marley told the assignment court Monday he estimates the trial will take four days.

A judicial pre-trial has also been scheduled for June 28.

Three days of a preliminary hearing for Wall’s case were already held earlier this month.

Wall was charged after a single-vehicle crash on Longwoods Road, west of Louisville, on April 12, 2021. Gabrielle Emery, 19, a passenger in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wall, who was 19 at the time of the crash, was taken to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with injuries that were not life threatening, according to previously published reports.

She was released by Chatham-Kent police after being charged in April 2021.

She also faces charges of dangerous operation causing death, stunt driving and speeding.
