Travelers forgiving SAS

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

When the SAS plane stopped taking off after their pilots went on strike on June 29, many Swedes opted out of the travel company when it was time to plan the next trip. But now those who TT talks to at Arlanda see no reason to boycott.

Friends Emilia Chavanne and Ebba Wirén knew about the strike when they were booking their trip to Spain and therefore chose another airline.

– If the situation is resolved now, I can definitely imagine going with SAS in the future, says Emilia Chavanne.

– You probably avoid it just for the moment to avoid problems, says Ebba Wirén.

Ulrika Hedin, who is on her way to Italy, thinks the same.

Ulrika Hedin thinks it is bad that it took several weeks before SAS and the pilot unions reached an agreement.

– I can definitely imagine flying with SAS in the future. It is clear that it affects trust, but I do not think it is something you will think about when you book next time, she says.

Choose another airline

She thinks it is bad that it took several weeks before SAS and the pilot unions reached an agreement. However, she believes that a strike like this could affect any airline.

– I was very happy that we booked with Norwegian now. But this is something that could happen to them as well.

Pia Ridgeway believes that it has previously been difficult to travel with SAS and she therefore thinks that confidence has not changed after the strike.

Pia Ridgeway has previous experience of trouble when she flew with SAS and therefore usually travels with another airline.

– My confidence in SAS is not worse than usual. But it has probably never been at the top, she says.

The timetable decides

Martin Strand and his wife also opted out of SAS when booking their return trip to Finland. When he chooses flights, the most important thing is that the plane goes as they should.

– For me, it’s mostly about what the timetables look like. I have flown a lot with SAS before and will do so in the future as well.

For Martin Strand, the timetables are what determine which airline he chooses to travel with.
