Traveler Aida’s criticism of Swedavia: Drug-affected people with children were allowed on board

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

The one-hour long flight on Saturday morning was dizzying for the traveler Aida. In an open letter to Swedavia, which is now widely shared on social media, she criticizes security. She questions how two people, who according to her were clearly under the influence of drugs at the gate, could be allowed on board together with a small child.

– They collapse in their seats shortly after we take off. They are completely knocked out. I try to push and bring them to life but there is no response, says Aida.

Took care of crying children

At the same time, the small child “cries uncontrollably and screams constantly”, says Aida, who herself picked up the child to comfort her. Medical personnel are called by flight attendants to help the knocked out woman. The man must have then regained his composure. When the plane lands, she is taken care of by paramedics.

In social media, several travelers and also staff who were on the plane write about the incident and praise Aida’s actions – while asking how it could happen.

Swedavia: Investigating the incident

Press officer at Swedavia, Lena Laurin, confirms that they have been contacted by travelers reacting to the situation on Saturday’s flight from Landvetter.

– We naturally find the information worrying and regret the perceived situation. What is happening right now is that we and our partners are analyzing what has happened.

Aida says that she mainly feels bad about the child’s situation and has subsequently reported the incident to the social services.

– Swedavia may not be responsible for children who get hurt, but they are responsible for passenger safety. People under the influence of drugs should not be taken on board, the police should have been called, says Aida.

Should you be able to board a plane if you are under the influence of drugs?

– If we see something out of the ordinary, we or our partners must raise the alarm. We have routines for that. Now we are going back to investigate whether there was anything unusual in this incident, says Lena Laurin press officer at Swedavia.
