Travel to Spain and Covid PCR test documents What you

HOLIDAYS SPAIN COVID. Many French people will be crossing the border this summer to reach Spain, its beaches, its sun and its culture. But what are the rules in force with the Covid-19 epidemic? We take stock.

[Mis à jour le 1er juillet 2022 à 15h48] You want to go to Spain this summer for the holidays? Good news, the rules have been relaxed for several months. However, the evolution of the BA 5 variant and the new epidemic wave that has affected France since the beginning of the summer calls for caution. Here are all the rules to follow for a trip to Spain.

Do I have to present a vaccination certificate or do a PCR test when entering Spanish territory?

If you arrive by car, people arriving from France are no longer required since May 19, 2022 to present the required documents: vaccination certificate Covid-19, negative test or recovery. The same applies since June 2022 if you arrive in Spain by plane or boat. Previously, it was necessary to present a complete vaccination certificate, a negative test certificate (PCR or antigenic) or a Covid recovery certificate.

I am vaccinated, do I still have to present a negative PCR test to go to Spain?

No, the presentation of your certificate attesting to a complete vaccination scheme is sufficient, provided that the vaccination was carried out 14 days or more before entering Spanish soil.

Is wearing a mask compulsory in Spain? What restrictions?

Since April 20, 2022, wearing a mask is no longer compulsory in Spain, both indoors and outdoors. However, there are a few exceptions:

  • in public transport: plane, train or bus but also by boat when it is not possible to respect the distance of 1.5m.
  • in health centers and establishments such as hospitals or pharmacies.

Barrier gestures must be respected, in particular respect for a social distance of 1.5m.
