    Russia confirms that the terrorist movement IS was behind the terrorist attack on the Crocus concert venue in Moscow in March, when more than 140 visitors were killed.

    IS has previously claimed responsibility, but Russian authorities have pointed to Ukraine.

  • People ate goods in store – tried to leave without paying

    During Thursday evening, a 35-year-old man grabbed several items from a grocery store in Örebro.

    – Then he starts chewing the goods and tries to leave without paying for himself, says police spokesperson Anders Dahlman.

    When he was confronted by staff, a commotion ensued.

    – It was a horrible life and an employee was injured. But guards come there and imprison him, says Anders Dahlman.

    The extent of the employee’s injuries is unclear.

    The man is now suspected of assault and theft.

  • Fire in industrial premises outside Hedemora

    There is a fire in an industrial premises in Västerby northwest of Hedemora. The alarm came at 07:00 on Friday morning.

    According to SOS alarm, there is a fully developed fire at the site.

    – At eight o’clock the extinguishing work began to take effect, but there is still some banging. There should be a number of gas cylinders in the building, says Agnes Brandt, team leader at SOS Alarm.

    The police and emergency services are on the scene. There are no reports of injured persons.

    “Traffic past the fire scene is closed due to the fire,” the police write on their website.

    The forecast for when the fire can be out is set to two hours, according to SOS Alarm.

  • Major disruptions in train traffic in Malmö

    There are delays and canceled departures in the train traffic in Malmö, the Swedish Transport Agency writes on its website.

    The problem is due to a stationary train with a vehicle fault at Malmö Central Station.

    “Trains cannot currently arrive or depart from Malmö C lower”, writes the Swedish Transport Administration.

    There is no forecast for when train traffic can run again.

    Two people have died after the head-on collision between a car and a bus in Hudiksvall on Thursday, the police write on their website.

    It concerns a woman in her 30s and a woman in her 20s. Relatives have been notified.

  • Woman found injured in Oskarshamn

    At 02:00 on the night of Friday, an alarm came that an injured woman had been found outdoors in central Oskarshamn.

    – It was passers-by who found the woman. She must have then told the police herself that she had been beaten by several men, says Sara Andersson, the police’s spokesperson in the South region.

    The woman, who is in her 30s, was taken to hospital by ambulance.

    – You have not been able to hear the woman. At the moment, the priority is that she should be questioned, then we are always looking for witnesses, says Sara Andersson.

    There are currently no suspects.

    A truck has hit a car on the E4 in Solna outside Stockholm.

    – We are on site and it is unclear about injuries, says Per Johansson, management operator at the rescue service.

    The driver of the car was taken to hospital by ambulance.

    Three lanes have been closed in the northbound direction.

    – The lorry has to be recovered so it will probably go quite quickly, about half an hour, says Per Johansson.

    The police write on their website that traffic is heavily affected.

  • One step closer to male birth control pills

    It has been six decades since the birth control pill became widely available to women in the Western world. However, equivalent contraceptives for men have not yet reached the market.

    But in a new study, American researchers have managed to make mice temporarily sterile, reports Science Radio.

    It does this by inhibiting an enzyme that is found in both mice and humans and that is crucial for male fertility.

    – When you stopped giving this substance to the mice, their ability to produce sperm and have baby mice returned, says Helena Kopp Kallner, associate professor and senior physician in obstetrics and gynecology at the Karolinska Institutet.

    At the same time, she points out that significantly more studies are required before the treatment can be used on humans.

    – It seems very promising, but it is a small study and we usually say that mice are not people. It’s a long way to go and we’ll see where it ends up. says Helena Kopp Kallner to science radio.

    At least 14 people have been killed and three more injured in a massive fire in an apartment building in Vietnam’s capital Hanoi early Friday, state media reported.

    Photos from the scene show burned belongings lying in the courtyard and the charred interior of the building’s first floor.

    A neighbor, who wishes to remain anonymous, says she heard an “explosion that sounded like firecrackers”.

    – I thought it was a fight or that something was thrown in through a window. When I ran out I saw the fire, she says.

    Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire, which is currently unclear.

  • Netanyahu to address US Congress

    Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will shortly address the US Congress, House of Representatives spokesman Mike Johnson announced on Thursday.

    According to Johnson, the visit will provide evidence of “very strong support for the Israeli government”.

    The invitation comes shortly after three European countries recognized the state of Palestine and the announcement from ICC prosecutor Karim Khan that he wants to arrest Netanyahu together with the defense minister and three high-ranking leaders within the terror-labeled Hamas.

  • China rehearses for ‘takeover’

    The ongoing Chinese military exercises in the Taiwan Strait are being done to test the country’s ability regarding “joint seizure of power, joint attack and control of important territories”.

    This is what Li Xi, spokesperson for China’s military, said on Friday.

    The two-day military exercise, which began on Thursday, includes aircraft and ships and takes place the same week that Taiwan’s popularly elected President Lai Ching-Te was sworn in.

  • US imposes sanctions on Georgia

    The United States is to impose sanctions on leading lawmakers in Georgia after the ruling party worked to push through the heavily criticized so-called “agent law,” US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a statement.

    As a result of the sanctions, those found responsible for the proposed law will face visa restrictions on travel to the United States.

    Blinken also announces that the USA’s bilateral relations with Georgia are to undergo a review.

  • Israel’s economy is rebounding

    Israel’s economy was shocked after the Palestinian Hamas terrorist attack last October. But this year GDP has recovered strongly.

    During the first quarter of this year, GDP rose by 14.1 percent on an annual basis and adjusted for seasonal effects, an increase not seen since the corona pandemic.

    Compared to the first quarter of last year, GDP increased by 3.3 percent according to the new preliminary figures, reports Bloomberg.

    A man is said to have been beaten in Jakobsberg’s center north of Stockholm by a group of people.

    – We received information that one person had been abused by four others. We are there now, says the officer on duty at the police in Stockholm.

    The abused was taken to hospital by ambulance.

    The alarm came in at 00:55.

    The difference is that Anders writes his own opinions and signs with his own name.

    A “troll factory” is a hidden organization that spreads misleading information for propaganda purposes – without being clear about who the sender is.
