Toxic release of ammonia at an ice cream factory

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

“It’s about an ongoing release of ammonia, but so far it’s only inside the building that the gas has spread and nothing has come out to the outside,” says Lars Jostelius, alarm and command officer at the rescue service.

It is still unclear what caused the leak, which was called in at 11pm on Saturday evening.

– We are preparing to try to shut down the release and are prepared for if it were to get out, but the assessment is that there is no danger to people on the outside and the building is empty so no one has been injured, says Lars Jostelius.

Ammonia is a toxic and corrosive gas that is harmful to breathe and extremely toxic at higher concentrations.
