Tourists’ waste water stops new construction

— There have been some establishments where they wanted to build houses and apartments. They have not been able to do it because the treatment plant issue is as it is, says municipal councilor Therese Mancini (S).

Peter Johansson, CEO of Västvatten, which is owned by four municipalities, says that several solutions with costs of hundreds of millions of kroner are being evaluated. He says that it is not the permanent residents who are the problem.

— Sotenäs is special in that we have a very large tourist load. It is during this rather short period that we hit the ceiling. The rest of the year it works just fine, he tells P4 West.
