To mark its tenth anniversary, Doctolib will be full of new features! The platform will offer new tools, some of which are already deployed. On the program: messaging, payment for physical consultations and… AI!

Doctolib, the platform used to make medical appointments online, will be loaded with new functions to celebrate its tenth anniversary! It must be said that the service, now well anchored in customs, has evolved significantly since its creation, in particular by popularizing teleconsultation, a service available without additional costs or different reimbursement formalities. In total, there are 40 million patients registered in France, 500 million appointments made each year, for 340,000 healthcare personnel referenced online in France, but also in Germany and Italy. And to celebrate its success and continue to simplify formalities for healthcare professionals and facilitate access to patient care, the French company will integrate new functions for caregivers and patients: practitioner-patient messaging, group communications, cooperation tools, online payment, etc.

Doctolib: functions to facilitate communication between patients and practitioners

Since November 27, the platform has included new secure messaging intended to facilitate communication between patients and their caregivers – a function that was already announced last July (see our article). A way to facilitate medical procedures, to centralize and secure exchanges and contact requests, which are often made through different channels (email, personal telephone, secretariat, SMS, etc.). The goal: to free up time for professionals, who can spend up to two hours a day interacting with their patients.

Since November 27, practitioners on the platform have also been able to send grouped and targeted communications to their patients. It is very useful for prevention – such as for flu vaccination campaigns – or to provide information on the organization of the practice – in the event of absence or replacement for example. The system has already been tested in Italy, where Doctolib is also established, and has been very well received.

Doctolib: soon AI-powered assistants

Other new features are also planned for 2024. Thus, Doctolib plans to improve online payment. If you could already pay for your teleconsultations, you will now be able to pay for physical consultations. In the coming months, artificial intelligence will also make its debut. Thus, practitioners will have a medical assistant to classify the requests made to them according to their level of urgency. It will also be able to ensure, thanks to a voice recognition system, the real-time transcription of consultations, the preparation of treatment plans, the drafting of letters of address or even access to medical resources. The aim is to save professionals time, allowing them to carry out up to 20% more consultations.

An intelligent task manager will also appear to limit the workload of caregivers outside of consultations. With this tool, they will benefit from a complete and centralized view of all of their administrative and medical tasks within a tool integrated into their software. They will thus be able to prioritize and delegate all the tasks of their office – list of patients to be contacted, list of appointments to be moved, secretarial tasks, list of supplies to be purchased, etc. Finally, Doctolib will display information and information on the application. statistics on delays in accessing care by department and by specialty, data which will be updated each year. This will be useful in medical deserts, where patients have difficulty finding appointments within a reasonable time frame.
