This Surprise Character Is Hiding In The One Piece Series

The One Piece series on Netflix is full of details and winks for fans. A character well known to manga fans even makes an appearance, and he’s very hard to notice.

The live-action adaptation of the One Piece manga has been available since August 31 on Netflix. Neophytes were able to discover the cult manga for the first time, while fans immersed themselves in the adventures of Luffy and his friends. The latter were able to take advantage of the viewing to embark on a treasure hunt to spot the many nods to the original work hidden in the different shots.

The big fans of One Piece have thus sought in the series a character that is cult for readers: Pandaman, a bizarre half-man half-panda character, who has appeared for 20 years in Eiichiro Oda’s manga. And if he has become so emblematic, it is because he is never easy to find: since chapter 44 published in 1998, the character has been hiding randomly in certain boxes of the 105 volumes, often in the background and very discreet way, so that you have to look for it to succeed in finding it.

True to the spirit of Eiichiro Oda’s manga, the Netflix series logically hid Pandaman in the first season. And good luck finding it at first glance, since it is at the bend of a shot, in the background and especially in the shadows! But it didn’t escape the gaze of CreamyAndrew, a Reddit user who shared his find. Pandaman thus hides in episode 4 of season 1, in a shot at 33’40, to the right of Zorro who comes out of a well. If you want to find it, you have to adjust the brightness of your TV! So, did you notice it?
