Right now is Tuva Novotny currently in the lead role in the romantic comedy series “Allt och Eva” which is broadcast on Viaplay. For direction and script stand Johanna Runevadand Sissela Kyle plays the character Eva’s mother in the series.
“I love Johanna’s tonality and am incredibly happy to work with her wonderful mix of humor and blackness, in a very relatable story and character about life not always going as planned,” said Tuva Novotny earlier in a press release.

For News24 tells Tuva Novotny everything about the Viaplay series, and why she absolutely could not turn down the role of Eva.

How did it come about when you got this role of Eva?
– It is rare to read natural lines, exciting situations and such good characters. Everything was fine, I thought. And then it’s fun to join.
Tuva Novotny had just filmed “The Abyss”, and wasn’t really in the mood for work. But the script for “Allt och Eva” was so good that she simply couldn’t say no.
What made you agree?
– We have a high production pace in Sweden. It’s wonderful that a lot of things are being done, but it also means that sometimes the pucks are a bit fast. And precisely on the script side, there may not always be the time that would actually be needed, to really work through it. To have time to give love to the secondary characters and so on. And it had this script. So that’s what made me really want to work on it. And that I love Johanna Runevad.

In the Viaplay series, the character Eva goes to Copenhagen to get pregnant via insemination. She then seeks out the donor, who later turns up in Stockholm. But he is completely unaware that Eva is pregnant and that he is the father.

Eva gets entangled in her lies in the series. How often do you lie?
– As rarely as possible. I think lying is a dangerous path to walk, explains Tuva Novotny and continues:
– Just as you can see with Eva, she starts lying and then it’s hard not to lie further to cover up the first lie. And it’s not that nice to be in, which only builds on her already quite high internal stress.

In the series, Eva jokes that she is on “sperm Tinder” when she has to choose a donor. If you had Tinder, what would your profile say?
– One of my brothers tried to help me on Tinder a few years ago. And it’s hard when you work with what I do. So it ended up being a picture of a mountain and some philosophical line that I can’t remember. And he laughed so hard he cried. That was my 30 seconds on Tinder, says Tuva Novotny.
