This is how Ukraine will be divided after the war

The western parts of Ukraine are to be divided into Poland, Hungary and Romania.
The largest part shall belong to Russia.
It is the Russian ex-president Dmitry Medvedev’s vision of what Ukraine should look like after what Russia calls “the military special operation”.

It was during a visit to Sochi that Russian ex-president Dmitry Medvedev presented his visions of the future to a large audience. Medvedev spoke in front of a giant map of Ukraine, but where the current borders were completely redrawn.

The map showed a scenario where the western parts of Ukraine belong to Poland, Romania and Hungary. Russia would have control over the eastern and southern parts as well as the entire Black Sea coast. On the map, Ukraine still exists but only as a small part around Kiev.

Advocated democratic forces

– One of Ukraine’s former leaders said at some point that Ukraine is not Russia. That concept must disappear forever. Ukraine is definitely Russia. Historical parts of the country must come home, Medvedev said to applause, according to Kyiv Post.

Dmitry Medvedev was the President of Russia between 2008 to 2012 and was previously seen as an advocate of democratic reforms in the country. During his time as president, international observers hoped that he would lead the country in a democratic direction. Now he is described by some as Putin’s attack dog.

– All our opponents must understand a simple fact. The area on both banks of the Dnieper belongs to Russia’s strategic and historical borders, Medvedev said, referring to the river that runs through Ukraine, he said.

Worse than the Cuban Missile Crisis

During his speech, Medvedev ruled out peace talks with the current Ukrainian leadership. He said any future Ukrainian government that wants peace talks must recognize what he called the new reality. Kiev has not responded to the developments but has previously criticized Medvedev for supporting the illegal war of invasion.

He described relations between the US and Russia as worse than during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962 – when the two countries were on the brink of a nuclear conflict.

– This is a full-fledged war against Russia with American weapons, with American special forces and American advisers. That’s how it is.
