The National Day weekend is approaching and offers both a little extra time off and less rain than last week. The rainstorm of recent days is now being replaced by better weather, and in many places in Sweden you can look forward to some sun during the holidays.

But before the weekend really starts, the rain is reminded again in some places, he says Sofia Söderbergmeteorologist at SMHI, for News24.
– On Friday afternoon and evening, we have some heavy showers in and around Svealand mainly, but also in northern Götaland and southernmost Norrland. There we have showers in several places, and locally they are heavy with thunder as well.
But just in time for many people’s long weekend to begin, the weather looks set to pick up.
– The showers will subside until Saturday, and in the southern half of the country it will first be generally sunny and then we have some cumulus clouds that can give a period of changing clouds in the afternoon, Sofia Söderberg explains.
The northern half of the country will have a little more varied weather on Saturday. Especially the inner parts will have a lot of clouds at first, which will then loosen up to more changing sun in several places.

The temperature on Saturday describes Sofia as a relatively pleasant June temperature of 15 to 20 degrees in many places, while residents in northwestern Norrland can expect a slightly colder Saturday. But even on Saturday, there may be a light shower in several places, according to Sofia Söderberg.
– In most places there will be no shower, but you should not be surprised if the stack clouds grow and maybe let go a little after a while.
On Sunday, it looks like Götaland will have mostly a sunny day, while Svealand and Norrland may get local showers. In terms of temperature, Sunday will be at about the same level as Saturday, but among other things Götaland’s east coast seems to have good conditions for the highest degrees on the thermometer.
– It is around 20 degrees that is expected in many places, so it can be just over 20 degrees in some places in any case, says Sofia Söderberg.
What will the weather be like on National Day?
On National Day, the cloudiness, from the south over Götaland, is expected to increase slightly followed by rain. But before that, it can be a bit sunny.
– At the moment, it looks like in the northern parts of Götaland and Svealand and in southern Norrland there may be room for some sun on Monday. And the temperature is 15 to 20 degrees in broad strokes even on the national day, Sofia Söderberg explains to Nyheter24.
