This is how much the athlete Earns from the Olympic

The Finnish athlete receives a bonus of 50,000 euros for the gold medal won in Paris. The Chinese athlete receives 703,000 euros for the Olympic victory.

At the Paris Olympics, successful athletes are given “incentives” or “bonuses” for winning a medal. It is granted either by the Olympic Committee of the country represented by the athlete, the government of the country, or both.

The International Olympic Committee itself does not offer monetary awards to Olympic medalists. However, it awards those who reach the podium, in addition to a medal, the mascot of the Olympics and a golden box containing the official event poster of the Games.

Some countries offer their athletes considerably large sums of money for winning an Olympic medal. In countries like Hong Kong, a special administrative region of China, and Singapore, the country’s government strongly supports elite sports.

Hong Kong pays According to NBC for Chinese athletes, a bonus of 768,000 dollars, or about 703,000 euros, for winning a gold medal. Singapore pays its gold medalists around 682,000 euros.

The difference between the countries is big, because for example an athlete representing Australia receives 13,000 dollars, or about 12,000 euros, for a gold medal.

the manager of the Finnish Olympic team Leena Paavolainen according to the Finnish athlete Tiena will earn 50,000 euros for the gold medal, 30,000 euros for the silver medal and 20,000 euros for the bronze medal.

However, not all countries offer their athletes money for medals. According to Forbes, Great Britain, New Zealand, Norway and Sweden did not offer direct financial incentives to their athletes for winning an Olympic medal at the last Summer Olympics in Tokyo (2020).
