On the shelves, deodorants of all kinds compete with arguments to seduce consumers: “natural” ingredients, “without aluminum salts”, “eco-responsible” packaging… It is therefore difficult to make a choice, to preserve the better health. Beware of chemicals
It is a known fact: chemical deodorants contain potentially carcinogenic substances. This is particularly the case for aluminum salts, which have been accused for several years of increasing the risk of breast cancer. They also interfere with hormones and disrupt the endocrine system.
Other ingredients in the sights of researchers: parabens, phthalates, triclosans and even propylene glycols. These chemicals can indeed be dangerous in people who are sensitive to them. They are then responsible for irritation, itching and allergies.
In view of the risks involved, it is therefore recommended to opt for the most natural deodorant possible. But between the marketing arguments and the (very) vague information written on the labels – it’s still difficult to find your way around.
What is the best deodorant to use?
To reduce sweat production, some dermatologists emphasize that it is important to choose a deodorant with antiperspirant properties.
