They were arrested on a military shooting range during exercise

A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of violating the Protection Act after being on a firing range during ongoing military exercises.

The man was arrested on Thursday at Falun’s Myckelmyra-Finnbo firing range, an area that is considered a protected object and is forbidden for unauthorized persons to enter while training is in progress, writes Dala-Demokraten.

The 30-year-old, who was arrested by personnel from the Armed Forces, claimed that he had been out training and happened to end up in the area, which is well signposted with prohibition signs.

The police must initiate a preliminary investigation into violations of the Protection Act.
