Frida Karlsson won the Tour de Ski and collapsed completely.
Afterwards, she thanks Norwegian ski queen Therese Johaug for the success on the ski slopes.
But Johaug then responds with a clear warning back to Karlsson.
There were extremely scary images when one was completely exhausted Frida Karlsson completely collapsed in the finish line after the last race of this year’s edition of the Tour de Ski. The Swede went all out to fight his way up the tough monster hill in Alpe Cermis.
Karlsson’s success
The Swede finished as number 15 and that was good enough to win the overall victory in the Tour de Ski and become the first Swede since Charlotte Kalla 2008 to win the mini tour. This was Karlsson’s third participation in the Tour de Ski and the very first time she managed to finish without leaving early.

The 23-year-old has had to go through several tough years to get to this great achievement and the question is whether it is not her biggest individual success so far in her career.
– Two years ago I was just in pain, and I couldn’t walk well at all. I have learned a lot, she says to the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet.

Johaug’s warning
The 23-year-old also wants to thank the Norwegian skiing queen Therese Johaug after this season’s great success. Her farewell to the World Cup has made Frida relax much more than before.
– Now I can lower my shoulders and just walk relaxed and well. In the past, I had the feeling that I had to overperform to win. I had to start fast and maintain that speed to win. Then it can break or wear out. Either I won, or I ended up a little further back on the results list, says Karlsson in the interview.

The words have reached Norwegian skiing legend Johaug, who laughs heartily and sends a clear warning back to the Swede.
– She must not relax too much, because then the others will come and take her, says Johaug to the Norwegian newspaper.
– She has shown very nice and good form so far, but I think in a way that Frida, and she told me that in Beitostölen as well, has set up a different tactic than last year. Then she was in shape very early. I think she wants to bring out her top potential in the WC.
