The writing of long texts is quite tedious in Google Message, because of its seizure zone limited to only four lines. But the publisher will remedy this small problem by increasing this limit.

Installed as standard on most Android smartphones, Google Messages is gradually refining in the hope of establishing itself as one of the most popular instant messaging. Known for his RCS protocol, he recently integrated a whole bunch of new functions such as the cancellation of a message already sent or a stop button for spam and advertising. But Google Messages is preparing another improvement, expected to be firm by users for years: the expansion of the text input field, so far limited to four lines. Suffice to say that it will take away a thorn in the foot during the editors of long messages!

Googles messages: 12 lines instead of 4 maximum

Currently, the editorial area of Google Messages stubbornly displayed only four lines of the writing text, each containing at most a few words. It is not very practical when you have a long text (a paving stone, as they say in the jargon) to write, since it is impossible to see it in its entirety. This therefore forces the user to leaf through his text from top to bottom to reread what he wrote.

But by dismantling the APK file of the latest beta version of the Android application, our colleagues fromAndroid Authority discovered that this limit of four was soon going to twelve. A real beneficial change! For this, the Mountain View company has decided to reduce the thick edges of the interface. Of course, the entry area does not occupy the whole screen, but it adds enough height to the writing box for more natural rendering and avoid constant scrolling. Please note, this information is not yet official, it is therefore possible that Google modifies the tool in the coming months.
