Mika Zibanejad made a fantastic playoff.
But that was not enough all the way for the star – or for the New York Rangers.
A video in Swedish has now been widely circulated, and it is really impossible to do anything but feel for him.
Not many people had predicted that Rangers would get as far as they actually did, and now that the playoff adventure is over, you can sum it all up as a great success. The Rangers beat the Pittsburgh Penguins and Carolina Hurricanes, and in the conference final against the Tampa Bay Lightning, they got a great position.
Barely got words out
After two games played in the series – both at home – they were in the lead with 2-0, but the turnaround would come. Lightning won their next two home games, eventually winning the series 4-2, and getting to play the Stanley Cup final against the Colorado Avalanche. For Rangers, the season is over, and it was difficult for the stars to find any comfort after the departure.
That Rangers actually made a cannon playoff did not help, and Mika Zibanejad was completely cracked afterwards. The Swedish star made a fantastic play-off and was constantly at the top of the entire play-off score, with clearly many more points scored than matches played. Immediately after the lead-heavy loss this weekend, which meant that Rangers finished playing, he met the press.
“Feels so empty”
Zibanejad sat down on the podium and looked really depressed, which is natural. But the images of Zibanejad, who barely have the strength to answer the questions asked, have been widely disseminated, and everyone agrees that Zibanejad and Rangers were perhaps worth more.
