The port should be able to accommodate ships carrying emergency aid to the war-torn and besieged area, Biden said in his address to the nation.
– A temporary pier would enable a massive increase in the amount of humanitarian aid entering Gaza every day.
Biden emphasized that the operation will not require US troops on the ground in Gaza.
But Israel must also take its responsibility, he emphasized.
– Humanitarian aid cannot be a secondary consideration or an object of negotiation. Protecting and saving innocent lives must be the priority, Biden said.
