The US Navy recruits young people – through computer games

Angelica Javier first thought it was a scam when she saw the ad on social media. Now she is one of eleven people working to recruit more soldiers by playing computer games.

– I get paid, I play games at work and at home. It’s a nice lifestyle, she says.

Adjusted the requirements

Today, barely every fourth young person in the United States meets the requirements to be able to work in the military. Now the fleet is working to adjust the requirements, but also by offering training camps to be able to attract more.

– We have worked hard to make it easier to enlist and give more people the opportunity to serve. We recognize that diversity is our strength, says Dave Benham, spokesperson for the Navy’s Recruiting Division.
