The truth about Zlatan’s new job has now been revealed – the tears that were absolutely decisive and so many millions get “Ibra”

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has finished with a new job.
Now the truth about his new role in Milan is revealed.
And what was the reason why “Ibra” agreed.

It took six months for Zlatan Ibrahimovic to decide what he will do after his playing career. After the emotional farewell to AC Milan last spring, it became clear this week that the Swede is returning to the club again – now as an advisor to the owners Redbird.

Ibra’s new job

Zlatan has been seen several times at San Siro during the autumn and it has been no secret that he negotiated with Milan. This now resulted in the new role of advisor in commercial and sporting matters.
– My love for the club will never die, and the opportunity to be part of their future in a meaningful way is something I could only have dreamed of. I am grateful to Gerry (Cardinale, Redbird’s founder) for making this possible for me, says Zlatan in an official statement.

The role in Milan can feel a bit fuzzy and diffuse, but now the truth is revealed about what it is that Zlatan will actually do in his new job.
– He asked Cardinale to have influence in all areas and he will be involved in both Milan and Redbird in general. In practice, this means that he will talk to both the owners and the club management, says the Italian journalist Marco Passotto on Gazzetta dello Sport, according to SportExpressen.

Explains the role

Italian media have reported that Ibrahimovic will be given a very free role, where he can influence the day-to-day operations of the purely sporting and be involved in the transfer market as well.
– In the transfer market, he will only act as an advisor, he will not have any actual power to decide. He will talk to both the coach and the players often, but that is not his main job. Just part of it, Pasotto explains to the evening newspaper.

The 42-year-old simply becomes a super consultant for Milan where he can tailor his role almost entirely by himself. And he is expected to receive a substantial salary, with the Italian newspaper La Repubblica speculating about sums similar to what Zlatan earned as a player in Milan, which is about 70-80 million Swedish kronor per year.
– The reason why we had to wait so long for it to become official is precisely because Zlatan wanted clarity before he agreed to something. He was probably confused at first, before it became clear which areas he should act on. But now he can feel satisfied. He will be involved in the sporting as well as the financial, Gazzetta journalist Marco Pasotto explains in the interview.

Zlatan’s tears

Italian media also report that the reason why Zlatan chose to stay at AC Milan is because of the family. Both sons play in Milan’s youth team and the whole family still lives in Milan – and we know how much it means to Ibra to be close to his family.

When Zlatan made a comeback in the Swedish national team in 2021, he was asked a question about what it was like to leave his family in Italy to play for Sweden again and was moved to tears.
– It’s not a good question you’re asking. I had Vincent (the son) here, who actually cried when I left him. But it is okay. It’s okay, said father Ibrahimovic then.
