On Monday, an SJ train derailed between Iggesund and Hudiksvall after the heavy rain. Passengers were forced to evacuate and three people were taken to hospital.
It was then announced that train traffic on the route could be resumed at the end of the week.
But now the Swedish Transport Administration states that the train stop will be extended until August 21. The reason is that you have to build a completely new road to be able to reach out with lifting cranes and personnel.
– However, the forecast is uncertain because the water flows are still very high, says Bengt Olsson, press manager at the Swedish Transport Administration.
