The Tidö parties want to ban cousins from marrying each other, they write in a debate article on Expressen. Now the parties have commissioned an investigator to come up with a proposal for what such a ban would look like.
The idea is that the ban could help reduce the incidence of honor-related violence and oppression.
Those who have signed the debate article are Richard Jomshof (SD), chairman of the Riksdag’s justice committee, Louise Meijer, the Moderates’ group leader in the justice committee, and KD and L’s legal policy spokespersons, Torsten Elofsson and Juno Blom.
