The Swedish Transport Agency’s press manager deleted all text messages from the E22 chaos

The Swedish Transport Agency’s press manager deleted all his text messages from the first day during the E22 chaos at the beginning of January, reports Echo.

I don’t think it matters because we are still conducting an internal investigation by the Swedish Transport Administration. So the SMS, there will be no more than what I have otherwise, says Bengt Olsson.

Among other things, the text message conversation between press manager Bengt Olsson and the authority’s then acting director general Malin Holen has been deleted, according to Ecot.

This despite the fact that the sequence of events and the Swedish Transport Administration’s actions are currently being investigated by an independent investigator.

– I don’t think it matters because we are still conducting an internal investigation by the Swedish Transport Administration. So the text messages, there will be no more than what I have otherwise, he says to the radio.

Upwards of 1,000 cars were stuck

The investigation into the Swedish Transport Administration’s actions during the E22 chaos should be completed in a few weeks. But Bengt Olsson doesn’t think his deleted SMS will bring anything to it.

– I see that we will be able to get enough good and accurate information about how things have gone when we put everything together, he says.

Up to 1,000 cars got stuck on the E22 between Hörby and Kristianstad at the beginning of January in connection with a snowstorm.
