Marika Domanski Lyfors is fighting for her life.
On Tuesday evening, the national team manager was on site when Sweden met Ireland.
Then she was celebrated with a beautiful gesture by the Swedish national team players.
It was in April that the Swedish Football Association, SvFF, announced that Marika Domanski Lyfors suffered from a brain tumor. The manager of the Swedish women’s national team was immediately taken sick and since then she has been fighting for her life.

In May, the next tough news came when it turned out that the brain tumor was malignant and therefore not possible to remove. After the fateful verdict, support for Domanski Lyfors has poured in.

For the blue-and-yellow national team players, she means everything.
– Marika is the queen of the team. The mother of the team. The team’s everything. She is an incredible role model. One of the most important mentors I’ve had in my life and one of the most important role models of female leadership, said the national team goalkeeper Zecira Musovic to TT during the last week.
Beautiful gesture
On Tuesday evening, Sweden plays a very important EC qualifying match against Ireland at home at Friends arena. Cancer sufferer Domanski Lyfors is then present for the first time since the announcement of the illness.

From the stands, she has seen the extremely beautiful gesture of the Swedish national team players towards her. During the warm-up, all players wore specially designed shirts with the following words: “We are with you, Marika”.
