Two weeks have passed without the missing woman in Vetlanda being found.

Now the two women who are suspected of kidnapping are requested to be remanded in custody.

The woman, who is in her 20s, disappeared in connection with a night out in Vetlanda on the night between 15 and 16 October. A major search effort has been ongoing since then, without results.

Two women of the same age are in custody on suspicion of kidnapping. On Tuesday, chamber prosecutor Adam Rullman applied for the detention period to be further extended. The suspicions still apply on probable grounds, the stronger level of suspicion. According to Adam Rullman, the hope remains that the missing woman will be found alive.

– That is absolutely our hope. This is, of course, complicated. It would have facilitated the investigative work to find her, he tells Vetlanda-Posten.

Remand hearings will be held on Wednesday.
