A complaint was filed this Sunday, December 8 against singer Jay-Z, accusing him of raping a 13-year-old minor. The rapper reacted.
Singer and producer Jay-Z is the subject of a complaint filed this Sunday, December 8. He is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl, reports NBC News. He is accused of having committed the acts with P. Diddy, who will be tried for having led a sex trafficking and extortion network, while being prosecuted for sexual assault on minors. According to the account given by the prosecution, the facts occurred in 2000 during an evening organized after the MTV Video Music Awards, an event rewarding the best music videos.
This is, in fact, a new version of an old complaint. In the previous one, Jay-Z was identified as “Celebrity A.” According to this, Sean Combs and Shawn Cartertheir real name, would not be the only ones involved: “Another celebrity stood there watching Combs and Carter take turns assaulting the minor. Many other people were present at the party, but did nothing to stop the attack.
According to her, the teenager was not officially invited to the evening but would have liked to meet the celebrities that evening. She then met a P.Diddy driver who told her that she “matched what Diddy was looking for”. He then allegedly let him in, after signing a confidentiality agreement. Once inside, she allegedly came across stars drinking and doing drugs. She said that while having a drink of her own, she felt ill and went up to lie down in one of the rooms upstairs. It would be at that moment that she would have crossed paths with the two accused, who would have said to her: “You are ready to party”. According to the complaint, Jay-Z began to undress her and held her by force before raping her, P. Diddy then did the same. The man also allegedly tried to force oral sex on her, she managed to escape by hitting him on the neck.
Jay-Z denies the facts and points the finger at the lawyer
Jay-Z denied the accusations against him in a statement shared by Rock Nation : “These allegations are so heinous that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one! Anyone who commits such a crime against a minor should be locked up, don’t you agree? These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case,” he retorted.
Beyoncé’s husband attacked the lawyer, Tony Buzzbee, who filed the lawsuit. “My lawyer received an attempted blackmail, called a demand letter, from a ‘lawyer’ named Tony Buzbee. He calculated that the nature of these allegations and the public attention would cause me to accept an amicable settlement”, he explained, adding that this had, on the contrary, pushed him to denounce “this crook” in public. He called him a “deplorable human being.”
The rapper especially deplores the effects of this affair on his family: “My only sorrow concerns my family. My wife and I will have to explain to our children, one of whom is at the age where his friends will certainly be seen the articles and will ask questions, the cruelty and greed of the people I must grieve the loss of this innocence no child should have to endure this at such a young age.
For his part, Tony Buzbee told AFP that “the pleading speaks for itself.” “This is a very serious matter which will be brought before the courts,” he added. P Diddy also reacted through his legal representatives in a press release. They called the lawsuits “brazen publicity stunts, designed to extract money from celebrities who fear lies will be spread about them, just as lies have been spread about Mr. Combs.”
