The reopening of the A13 motorway is not happening right

The continuation of analyzes and work on the A13 motorway, closed between Paris and Vaucresson, extends the closure period by a few more days.

The plan to probably reopen the A13 in the middle of this week will not last. While the deputy director of the Île-de-France interdepartmental roads directorate (DIRIF) announced, on Monday April 22, a reopening of the axis linking Paris and Vaucresson in the next few days, the prefecture of Hauts- de-Seine finally pushed back the deadline a few hours later. In a press release, the prefecture which works with the DIRIF indicated that traffic on this highway ramp will therefore not resume before May 1 and only “if all the conditions are met” explain the prefecture and the DIRIF.

The highway has been closed in both directions of traffic since the discovery of a crack in the roadway on Friday. The cracking “runs along the end of the insertion ramp and crosses the A13 towards Saint-Cloud park, with a depth of 50 to 80 cm depending on the location”, specified the prefecture. The analyses, which began as soon as this part of the highway was closed, made it possible to “confirm that the cracking of the roadway and the hydraulic structure located under the highway are the consequences of a movement of the retaining wall. “

Repair work has already started

The DIRIF teams have already carried out sealing work so as not to aggravate the situation below ground on the road. They add that “continuous monitoring measures will be taken to monitor the movements of the wall as well as the evolution of cracks, particularly with regard to the hydraulic structure”. The conclusions of this monitoring will decide the duration of the road closure: “If [elles] confirm a stabilization of the ground, the first repair work on the roadway and the protection of the hydraulic structure could be undertaken by the end of the week”. A situation which explains this postponement, still hypothetical, to May 1st.
