The police warn after several slippery accidents: “Drive carefully!”

The winter weather makes it difficult for traffic in southern Sweden.
SMHI warns of sudden icy conditions in Skåne – and several accidents have occurred in the county, including on the E4.
The police are now urging road users to drive carefully.

During the afternoon, two passenger cars and a truck collided with each other on the E4 at the height of Skåne’s Örkelljunga. As a result of slipping, another accident is said to have occurred at the site.

A few hours later, a passenger car and a truck collided with each other on the E4 near Markaryd. Police, emergency services and ambulance were all called to the scene.

It is unclear if anyone was injured in the accidents. The police are now warning about the tricky road conditions.

SMHI warns: Sudden ice slippage

In the Hässleholm region, two minibuses collided with each other due to sudden slippage. Around ten people are said to have been involved.

– We have a lot of accidents in Skåne and Blekinge where slippage is mentioned. We urge road users to be aware of it and to drive carefully, says police spokesperson Evelina Olsson.

SMHI has issued a yellow weather warning for sudden icy conditions in Skåne County.

Even further up in the country, slippery roads have made traffic difficult. SVT Stockholm reports that seven cars have been involved in a traffic accident on the E18 north of Stockholm.

In the northern parts of Uppsala and Stockholm, SMHI has warned that snowfall risks disrupting traffic.
