The police have not found the king’s friend suspected of buying sex – who can thus avoid being brought to justice.

Something that is criticized by the criminologist Leif GW Persson.

– It is not possible to wait until a few days before it becomes time-barred to search for him, he says.

A man with close ties to the royal family has been charged with buying sex after a “double swipe” at a massage parlor, which Aftonbladet previously reported on.

On Friday, the police searched for him in his home, which is connected to the court, to inform him of suspicion of crime, but he has not been able to be found.

On Monday, the case is time-barred, something that frustrates the police, according to Aftonbladet’s information.

Criminologist Leif GW Persson is not surprised.

– It’s not the first time someone has done something like this. There is a two-year statute of limitations and they usually manage to stay away, then the case is dropped, he says and continues:

– He claims himself that he was only there and had a normal massage and it is a problem that those who have done the same usually get on well. It’s easy as hell to stay away, all you have to do is go to Copenhagen.

“Can’t wait”

GW says that the police could have served him earlier if it had been a priority case.

– It wouldn’t have been any great art to get him served, but it’s not possible to wait until a few days before the statute of limitations applies to searching for him. It is clear that he has been informed about how it is and then it will be this way. It’s sad, but now it is what it is.

The silence of the court

The court does not want to comment on the information that the man was searched in a residence connected to the royal family.

“Private persons who do not belong to the royal family are not something that the court can comment on,” writes press manager Margareta Thorgren in a text message.

Stockholm district court’s administrative manager Anne-Marie Cardenas confirms for The Express that time is running out to find the man.

– As can be seen from the lawsuit, the statute of limitations is expected to start shortly and if service is not done before then, he will not be able to be sentenced for the crime, she says.
