The parents of the suspects: “Criminals took advantage of our children’s diagnoses”

– Already from the age of six, the school staff noticed that something was not right. We sought help from BUP and found out that he has both ADHD and autism, says the father of the accused 18-year-old.

SVT Nyheter has obtained documents from child and youth psychiatry that corroborate the father’s story.

– I couldn’t control him even though we trust each other, but he is even closer to his friends. If his friends tell him to do something, he does it without thinking. So I asked for help from social services because I didn’t know what to do. But my son refused to meet the social services staff, says the father.

“He doesn’t know right from wrong”

He believes that the 18-year-old is like a 10-year-old mentally because of the diagnoses, which means that he can be exploited.

The suspected 15-year-old also has autism, according to his father.

– He only started talking when he was three years old. His brain doesn’t work very well – he doesn’t know right from wrong, says the 15-year-old’s father.
