On Monday evening, the British Royal House announced in a press release that King Charles had been diagnosed with cancer. The discovery was made in connection with the king’s prostate being recently examined. However, it is stated that it is not about prostate cancer.
Court expert Claes-Johan Larsson sees the royal family going out and clearly communicating about the king’s health as a positive change.
– Usually when you go out and say that people are sick in these circles, you have not been completely open, but you say a little vaguely which way it leans, says Claes-Johan Larsson.

Just like the British royal house’s hope, Claes-Johan Larsson believes that the openness about King Charles’ diagnosis can lead to a discussion about prostate cancer.
– That they decided quite early on to go out and say how things are with the king, I think that follows a line that is damn good and damn modern, says Claes-Johan Larsson.
He now believes that the focus can end up on the diagnosis instead of the king, which can make more men dare to get tested.
– It becomes a leverage effect, I would say, which makes other people think that it can just as well affect them. So maybe more people will start checking themselves and that is an advantage, says Claes-Johan Larsson.
At the same time, he also believes that it may dampen any speculation about the king’s condition.
– They themselves are aware that people start speculating and journalists create their own truths if you don’t come up with sufficient answers, says Claes-Johan Larsson.
