The official title confirms what hardly any Tom Hardy fan

The third Venom film from Columbia Pictures and Sony will be titled Venom: The Last Dance carry. One last dance? It doesn’t sound like Tom Hardy has anything to do beyond the Marvel villains trilogy as alien parasite carrier Eddie Brock. At most in other films with characters from the comic publisher, such as most recently in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

In addition to the title reveal, a new US release date has also been set for Venom 3, as reported by the Hollywood Reporter. The film by debut director Kelly Marcel is now coming out just in time for Halloween October 25, 2024 to the cinemas. In Germany it remains November 7th for the time being.

Venom 3: Marvel anti-hero Tom Hardy prepares to say goodbye

Due to the Hollywood strike, work on the new Venom film in 2023 was stopped for a while. Since November last year, Hardy has been in front of the camera again with his new co-stars Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor. The actor thanked his team on Instagram and actually revealed the title:

The last Dance – luckily we’re filming again. […] This journey was and is a lot of fun – there are always difficult moments when working, but it doesn’t feel so difficult when you love what you do and you know you have great material and the support of a great one from all sides teams has.

Unfortunately, we don’t yet know anything about the plot of the film that completes the Venom trilogy. What is certain is that, as with the previous film Venom: Let There Be Carnage, director Marcel contributed the script and Hardy is involved in the story.

Spider-Man: If I were a superhero…

Venom – anything but box office poison

Not only is the ever-popular Spider-Man making the box office ring, but apparently so are his opponents, who don’t even come from Marvel Studios and the MCU. According to Box Office Mojo, Venom was able to gross over 856 million internationally with a budget of around 100 million US dollars. The sequel didn’t quite come close, but it still grossed over $506 million on a budget of around $110 million.

It remains to be seen whether the producers will stick with three films in the event of a great success for Venom: The Last Dance or whether they will ask Tom Hardy again. You can have a new hit after the Madame Web debacle definitely well tolerated…
