Launched in 2018, the C5 Aircross compact SUV is entitled to a mainly aesthetic makeover, with a sportier style and a modernized interior.

Citroën has just unveiled the mid-term update of its C5 Aircross which has so far sold more than 260,000 copies. No real revolution but a design “more assertive and statutory”, dixit Citroën. One style indeed “racy” which will undoubtedly help the C5 Aircross to compete more effectively with the Peugeot 3008, which was one of the SUV most popular compacts on the market in 2021 (over 50,000 units sold). Remember that these two models share the same platform.
Aesthetically, the retouching is most visible at the front. The lines of the grille, the new headlights, theair and the enlarged scoops as well as the bib give off an impression of width which makes the front face more imposing. The rear of the new C5 Aircross does not change much, except for the lights which adopt a new light signature with three modules Led three-dimensional rectangular. Citroën announces a new Eclipse Blue body color to complement the White colors Ice floe, Pearl White, Perla Nera Black, Platinium Gray, Artense Gray.

The interior of the C5 Aircross reflects a desire to gain in “comfort and refinement”. The dashboard has been retouched and incorporates a new 10-inch infotainment screen. On C5 Aircross with automatic transmission, the shift lever speed gives way to an e-Toggle selector which gives the center console a more refined style. On the dashboard, the instrumentation for the driver is still entrusted to a 12.3-inch screen. Seats in mousse high density, inherited from the C4 and C5 X, gain in thickness and comfort. At the rear, the new C5 Aircross is still the only one SUV in its class to offer three individual sliding, reclining and retractable seats. In its version hybrid rechargeable, the trunk can go from 460 to 600 liters.
The C5 Aircross retains its suspensions stops progressive hydraulic and still offers three engines coupled to a manual (six-speed) or automatic (eight-speed): PureTech gasoline, BlueHDi diesel and plug-in hybrid The latter offers up to 55 km of fully electric autonomy with a torque of 320 Nm and a maximum speed of 135 km / h. The new C5 Aircross is expected to arrive in dealerships towards the end of the first quarter. For now, Citroën has not yet communicated on the prices of the three models. As an indication, the C5 Aircross phase 1 in plug-in hybrid version costs 41,250 €.
