Björn Ferry made a statement about Johannes Thingnes Bö.
Now the national team is roaring away.
– They have to stop, says coach Johannes Lukas.
Johannes Thingnes Bö is on a level of his own during this year’s biathlon season. The Norwegian skates by far the fastest, which means that he can even afford to miss several shots, which he rarely does. Bö has won 19 out of 22 races this season, and started the WC perfectly.
The outcome of Bö
Bö started the WC by winning the mixed relay, and he has since won the sprint, the pursuit start – and yesterday the distance race. During the competition on Tuesday, Bö was two minutes faster than the nearest competitor in pure riding time, and he won the competition despite having two barriers.
During the competition, when Bö went for his fourth WC gold in as many attempts during this year’s championship, the expert Björn Ferry stuck out his chin.
– He (Johannes Thingnes Bö) could probably break both poles and win, but break both legs then it will be tough, he says in the broadcast.

Strikes back at Ferry
Ferry came up with the story after shooting coach Johan Hagström said on SVT that Bö would win the competition as long as he didn’t break both sticks and fall. But in other parts of the national team, people are tired of the rhetoric. Coach Johannes Lukas believes that Bö is not as superior as Ferry makes it sound.
– No, I don’t agree with that. It has to stop talking like that, these are the best biathletes in the world and Johannes is right now better than the others, and it’s just a matter of realizing that and we have a lot of respect for that, he tells Expressen.
Johannes Lukas believes at the same time that Sweden is involved in cutting, and that Bö cannot afford so many more booms.
– Our ride times are really good (Martin Ponsiluoma third and Sebastian Samuelsson fourth) and we see that he misses, and if he misses again it will be tight for him too, says Johannes Lukas.
