Swedish soccer player Kristoffer Olsson has returned home after six months of rehabilitation.

A soccer player who lost his ability to speak and exercise due to a rare brain disease Kristoffer Olsson has returned home after half a year of rehabilitation. Olsson, 29, was hospitalized in the winter after losing consciousness at home on February 20.

– Six months later I am back at home, Olsson commented on his Instagram account.

During hospital examinations in Aarhus, it appeared that Olsson had blood clots in his brain. They were the result of a very rare inflammation of blood vessels in the brain.

Olsson was in the hospital for a long time on a ventilator, but in mid-March he was transferred from the hospital to rehabilitation. Olsson recovered so that he could talk and walk again in April.

Midfielder Olsson hopes to be able to return to professional fields. He represents the Danish premier league club Midtjylland, who won the Danish championship last season. At the end of May, Olsson was handing out the championship trophy to his teammates.

Olsson has played 47 matches in the Swedish national team. At club level, he has represented, among others, Arsenal, Krasnodar and Anderlecht. In Midtjylland, he first played on a loan contract, but signed a three-year contract with the club in the summer of 2023.
