A total of sixteen trees, which currently stand between the Merwedekanaal power station and Overvecht, may be cut down. They have to make way for a pipe from Eneco for district heating. The energy company will start cutting down the trees next week. Two of the trees, which the residents would like to keep because they are 74 years old and “image-defining”, will remain standing for the time being. This is evident from a letter that the energy company will send to local residents tomorrow.
